Rising Fist cards revealed!

We have some new news on the cards in rising fist! First off, we finally got a picture of the Rising Fist Packs! The art design includes a Hawlucha, M Heracross, M Lucario, and Tyrantrum (YES!).
Furious Fists Booster Packs with Hawlucha, Mega Heracross, Mega Lucario, and Tyrantrum

Aside from the pack art (which does look pretty cool), lots of cards have just been officially announced! Below are the EX Pokemon and their translations!

Hawlucha-EX - Fighting - HP130

Basic Pokemon

Ability: Retribution
If this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon and is damaged by an opponent's attack, put 2 damage counters on the Attacking Pokemon.

[F][C][C] Moonsault Stomp: 60+ damage. This attack does 40 more damage if there is a Stadium in play.

When a Pokemon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
                                                             Retreat: 2

Lucario-EX - Fighting - HP180
Basic Pokemon

[F] Scud Jab: 30 damage. This attack’s damage isn’t affected by Resistance.
[F][F] Screw Blow: 60 damage. You may draw cards from your deck until you have 6 cards in your hand.
[F][F][F] Somersault High: 100 damage.

When a Pokemon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

M Lucario-EX - Fighting - HP220
Mega Evolution - Evolves from Lucario-EX

When 1 of your Pokemon becomes a Mega Evolution, your turn ends.

[F][F][F] Rising Fist: 140 damage. Discard 1 Energy attached to your opponent's Active Pokemon.

When a Pokemon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
                                                             Resistance: none
                                                             Retreat: 2

To start off, I think that Hawlucha-EX looks extremly epic, but just isn't that powerful. Its only attack does a mere 60 damage (+40 if there's a stadium) for three energy, which pretty much sucks. And it's ability is the same as Bouffalant, so that was a bit of a downer too. Although, I'll cut it some slack since it is the promo for the Lucario box. As for Lucario-EX I found him fairly interesting because that he had three attacks. We haven't seen that in years, so to see them bringing it back is pretty cool. It's attacks are fairly good- nothing ground shattering to the TCG as we know it, but at least it can attack good without having to be mega-evolved. Speaking of M Lucario, I think it is fairly good, but not as good as M Charizard X and Y. Sure this guys better than M Blastoise and M Venusaur, but since it's non-mega version seemed so good I was expecting a little bit more. Plus he was one of my favorites. But he may become even better because of the below supporters/stadiums/energy.

Strong Energy - Special Energy

This card can only be attached to a [F] Pokemon. As long as it's attached to a [F] Pokemon it provides 1 [F] Energy. Attacks from the Pokemon this card is attached to do 20 more damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon. Discard this card if the Pokemon this card is attached to is no longer [F].

Fighting Stadium - Trainer
Stadium

The attacks of each player's Active [F] Pokemon do 20 more damage to Active Pokemon-EX (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can’t play this card.

Korrina - Trainer

Supporter

Search your deck for 1 [F] Pokemon and 1 Item card, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards.

You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).

These cards, which aren't great on their own, work together perfectly. You can attach the 'Strong Energy' to M Lucario, put 'Fighting Stadium' into play, and M Lucario's attack does 220 for three energy! And, if you add in a muscle band and do even more, especially if they do end up coming out with a M Ampharos, which would be weak to fighting! And of course if you need a trainer card or more energy you can play Korrina, which is basically a Skyla and Energy Search combined, even though it can only search for fighting energy! Put all of this together and you could have a pretty sick fighting deck.

Overall I think that this news is very promising and I hope we continue getting good cards for the next set. Until then, you can see my last post where I talked about the Rising Fist set announcement and the new Lucario box that will be coming out soon! Also, I have included Pancham and Pangoro, which aren't that good so I decided not to discuss them thoroughly but are still cool, of course (#Avoidinghatercommentsfrompancamlovers).

Pancham - Fighting - HP60
Basic Pokemon

[C] Rowdy Evolution: If you have a [D] Pokemon on your Bench, search your deck for a Pokemon that evolves from this Pokemon and place it on top of this Pokemon. (This counts as evolving that Pokemon.) Shuffle your deck afterwards.
[F][C][C] Moxie: 30 damage.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

Pangoro - Fighting - HP100
Stage 1 - Evolves from Pancham

Ability: Skin of the Leader
While this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, its maximum HP is increased by 20 for each of your Benched Pokemon.

[F][F][C] Crazy Knuckle: 80+ damage. If this Pokemon is affected by a Special Condition, this attack does 40 more damage.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 3

Rising Fist Set Announcement!

We have a lot of new news on the next set of X and Y. As you know, Flashing Fire was just released, but of Pokemon's already advertising their next set. The set, called Rising Fist, obviously has a fighting theme to it, and will be released June 14th. In Japan and August in Japan.

The crazy thing about that release date is that it's three days before worlds! Obviously this set will come out with some good cards that many players will want to use but it would be extremely hard to get the cards and put them into their deck while knowing how to use them well all in THREE DAYS! The question now is while the people with the most experience with their deck win, or the ones who have teched in these new cards? I guess we'll have to wait and see. Also on June 14 in Japan they are releasing a Lucario box.

This because will include a holo Hawlucha-EX, 8 booster packs from Rising Fist, 10 fighting energy, two brand new special energy called 'Power Energy' with a Shauna and Tierno. Additionally, this box will include a players guide and storage box as seen above which is pretty cool. This will be selling for 1480 yen, which is around the same as $15, the same price as our tins. But this is worth way more than tins. Tins have one promo and 4 packs random sets. This thing has a Hawlucha-EX, several cool promos, a guide, a storage box, and 8 packs from the same pack, which our tins don't have. I hope they don't increase the price in America, because I want this. It gives out as many packs as a pre-release for half the price! The packs alone would be worth $40! This is INSANE! Also, Lucario sleeves, which we don't have a picture of, will be released in Japan for 362 yen, around $4.

What really caught my attention was the new 'Strong Energy'. This is the first time that we've seen a special energy that isn't a colorless by default since HGSS, and even then they weren't common. This obviously appears to be a fighting by default, although what it will be remains a mystery because of the tiny size it is in the picture. My guess is that it will be something fighting related, like that all attacks would do 10 extra damage or something similar. Also, this set is obviously based around fighting, and the last around fire. Could this mean that we have a set based around a Mega Evolution? And since this set had a special fighting energy, could all of the sets have a special energy around their base type? Just a thought, but it would be awesome if it were trure.

Mario Skylander?

With the Wii U being a flop, Nintendo has been in a bad financial situation. So, they have been doing everything they can to get their sales up. But this was unexpected, which I suppose should be expected if Sakurai had anything to do with. They debuted Skylanders-like figurines at their latest financial meeting. These figures don't work exactly the same way though. Unlike Skylanders and Disney Infinity, these figures don't have their own game. Instead they'll interact with lots of Nintendo games, while saving all of the data that they have collected to the figure.

Nintendo's interactive figurines will be able to connect to a variety of Wii U and 3DS games, it said. Image: Nintendo
One of the best parts of these figurines in my opinion is that they will work both on the Wii U and 3DS. Obviously these figures will use the built in RFID reader, but the 3DS doesn't have one, and Nintendo must be regretting that now. Instead they will have to include a new piece of hardware that you could wirelessly communicate with the 3DS that has a RFID reader, like the Portal of Power from Skylanders.

But there are still many questions about this new hardware. Most notably would be how it will work in games. I think that they would at least have the following figures:

  • Kirby
  • Luigi
  • Mario (confirmed)
  • Yoshi
  • Donkey Kong
The reason I say these are because that they are the franchises biggest names and are all platformers that have similar characteristics. I think that these figures would only be able to used in their own games, but then could all come together in Super Smash Bros., since this includes all of those characters and the game will be coming out on both the 3DS and Wii U. Or, it could be a Mario only thing and have Luigi, Mario, Peach, Bowser, Koopa, DK, DK jr., Koopa, Waluigi, Wario, ect. and could all come together in Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. How ever this ends up being used, Mario will probably be used to communicate between New Super Mario Bros. 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii U, Super Mario 3D World, and Super Mario 3D Land. But that 's all just a guess. How exactly it will work no one really knows because that Nintendo has revealed very little and has only advertised Mario, although it is believed more may be revealed at E3 2014.

Thanks for reading, and as usual check back here for more info on these figurines! Until then you can check out the GameXplain discussion the new figures and Nintendo's financial state overall.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Footage!

Hey Pokemon fans! In my last post I was telling you that Pokemon TV would be releasing footage on Saturday of the new game. Well, now it's here! In the YouTube video, you can see the cinematic scenes shown in the teaser trailer!

Now, this trailer didn't reveal much, but from it is obvious that they will be using the X and Y engine with the much improved graphics, which is nice. We can't tell much more, except there does appear to be a lot of water. It looks as if Kyoger can summon a snow/rain storm and Groundon can summon a meteor and a bunch of fire from the sky, but that's it. They didn't even give us any sound effects from the game!!! But we still have a while until the game is released, so stay tuned for more! Until then make sure to check out my first post on this game, because there is lots of info and speculation in it!

Ruby and Sapphire Update

Hey everyone!  As you already know (and if not click here) Nintendo has announced that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be the next Pokemon video game to come out. But there are still many questions surrounding the game, most notably if it will be a brand new game or just a HD remake. But those questions might be able to be answered. Nintendo says they will release a video of the game this saturday, and Corocoro says they will leak info in the next few days. I will try to get this news out ASAP on this website, so stay tuned! But for now you can watch the GameXplain below on some speculation on the new game, although most of it I covered in my last post.

New Pokemon game confirmed!

BIG NEWS! Pokemon has just announced the next Pokemon game AND IT'S COMING OUT THIS YEAR! Very little is known about this new game, but I'll tel you what has been confirmed. The name of the game is omega ruby and alpha sapphire!

Of course this game will be featuring Groundon and Kyoger, but they look different this time. Speculation is that this may be a mega evolution, or some other addition form like Girantina Origin Form from Pokemon Platinum. This game is going to be released in November Worldwide!

But, my question is, why so soon? X and Y just got started this November, and I was surprised a new game would be released so soon. For example, for the past few games, they've been released every two years. But these games will be released less than a year apart from X and Y. And, if anything, I would expect them to make a Pokemon Z like everyone speculated with Zygarde as the main character. Or, if they were to release a new game, I thought it would be the Pokemon Plus and Minus that that one guy leaked. I guess he was lying. Either way, it looks like this is really going to happen. This is what Nintendo said in a press statement: "Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are a fresh take on Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire... The new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world."

That only leaves one question. What Pokemon will be in this game? He said that it was a 'fresh take' on Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Does this mean it's basically just a remake of the game, with only the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire had in it, like Fire Red and Leaf Green? But he did also say it was a 'spectacular new world', so I'm really not sure. I'm just wondering if there will be new pokemon, because I don't know just how ready we are to get a new set. Could the TCG catch up so quickly? And would the X and Y sets be rotated out in a single season???!!!

Well, whatever they decide to do, I hope Nintendo doesn't screw up it's franchise. Other than that though, I am really excited to hear that the new game will be coming out soon since I've really done all there is to do in X and Y. Other than that I have posted the Nintendo YouTube trailer for you to check out. Oh, and don't forget to head over to the Pokemon Forums to talk about the HUGE announcement by clicking here! I can't wait!

P.S.
And yes, it will be in 3D! :)
