Tomodachi month!

Hey guys! Fencer6 here! It has been forever since I was last on. This summer I just pretty much went on vacation. And I was pretty busy too. Volunteering for VBS, going to Texas for a mission trip, staying at an overnight camp for a week, and just chilling out. But, I am back in action and weekly posts resuming! Wooooo!

Alright, so since it's the last day in August, and I've totally gotten addicted to Tomodachi Life in the past few days, I thought I'd try something new. I did a post several months ago talking about Tomodachi Life, which you can see by clicking here, and I thought it was some random crap from Japan that would just be weird and no fun. But I was wrong. I got the game just the two days ago and I've already played 6 hours on it, and I have to say I'm doing pretty well. I just think that this would be a perfect opportunity for a diary entry-like series similar to the Animal Crossing one I did several months ago. So, for all of September, I will be doing lots of Tomodachi Life posts, as well as some of the regular stuff. Now, just a quick warning- I'm not guaranteeing this will be the theme all month. It may fail, and I may have to scrap the idea, but I'm hoping that won't happen and I'm nearly sure that we will have at least 1-2 TL posts a week.

I hope you will enjoy taking a look at life at Snikey Island (wierd name, but it's a weird game in general, so I thought it would fit). Stay tuned!

A few weeks ago, I posted a video of me opening the charizard EX box, and said that the code cards from that video will be available in my giveaway, as long as we had 20 entrants. But then I decided that it was going on too long and i set the date to July 5th, and now its finally that time! Watch LIVE as I randomly select the winner to ensure that it is as fair as possible. Thanks to all the entrants, and please enter next time! Thanks!

Mario Kart 8 is doing gr8!

We all know that the Wii U did really bad on the market. But Mario Kart 8 is doing amazing, and is even boosting Wii U sales. By far the best Mario Kart title to date, Mario Kart 8 has already sold 1.2 million copies worldwide in just three days from May 29- June 1. But not only has Mario Kart 8 done great itself, but it has also boosted Wii U sales. In the UK alone, the release of Mario Kart 8 has boosted Wii U sales 666%! That means that one game has sextupled (that means x6) the sales of the faltering Wii U. It's obvious that everyone is dying to play the newest Mario Kart game. And trust me, it's awesome. In fact, you can click here to see me playing some of Mario Kart. I'm glad that the Nintendo is finally making some money on their newest system, and I hope they can pull it off again. I plan to soon write a review for Mario Kart 8, so stay tuned!

Use your Gamecube controller on the Wii U!

Hey guys, Fencer6 here. Today we have some pretty big news for retro fans of the Nintendo series. Nintendo has announced they will be... drumroll please...

The return of the GameCube controller! Originally the GameCube controller, obviously, worked with the GameCube. Then, when the Wii came out, they didn't want to anger fans and not allow them to play their previous collection of games on the new system as well as to be able to continually sell GameCube games to wii owners who wanted to by the Wii. It was kind of like a two-in-one deal. Buy the Wii and get a GameCube free. So they programmed the Wii to accept GameCube discs and installed a series of slots on the top of the system to allow for the GameCube controllers to plug into the system as well as a slot for GameCube memory cards.

This allowed for all kind of awesome features. Not only could you play retro games on the new system, but you could also play certain new games on the new controller such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii. I loved these controls after playing games like Melee and Double Dash. They felt natural. I trained myself to play Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros with the GameCube controller, and I used this whenever I could. Not only that, but it also allowed people to play 'Virtual Console Games' from the N64 that could be downloaded straight from the online store and played with the GameCube controller.

But of course, the Wii U ruined this great feature. You could no longer play those awesome Virtual Console games with a gamecube controller and instead had to buy the Wii U Pro Controller, which cost a whole $50, and if you wanted to play MK Wii or SSB Brawl you either had to shell out the bucks or learn to play with the skinny stick that was a Wii remote. It might be great for hitting golf balls or swinging a lightsaber, but it was pretty dang hard to play a racing or fighting game.

So, as you could probably guess, fans weren't happy. And with the release of Super Smash Bros. Wii U just around the corner, people were even more disappointed. If you wanted to play Super Smash Bros. with a GameCube like controller with four people you would have to spend $200 on four sets of Wii U Pros. Thankfully, for the first time, they decided to do something right with the Wii U. available at the release of Super Smash Bros. Wii U this holiday season.

That's right! You can use your GameCube controllers on the Wii U! These awesome devices won't be available for purchase until winter, but thankfully the Super Smash Bros. Invitational @ E3 2014 will be using these adapters so that people won't have to learn to play SSB Wii U with the Gamepad/ wii remote. I am super excited about this news, and I can't wait to get one. It would be amazing that they could have some GameCube virtual console games on the Eshop because it would make total sense.

Little other in known about this piece of hardware, but you can check out the GameXplain video below. And stay tuned for more news on this items release date and other GameCube news!

Mario Kart Grand Prix 1: Mushroom Cup

Hey guys! Today I have a new video for you by yours truly, Fencer6!  With the release of Mario Kart 8, I decided to create a Play-Through series for Mario Kart 8. I will be playing all eight grand prixs, and in this episode you will get to see the first prix: the mushroom cup. I hope you like it, and I will create more soon! Thanks!

Also, I have decided to end my New Super Mario Bros. Wii series because that, with the hardware I have it is difficult to record since it is a wii game, not to mention it is a fairly old game by now. Of course you can still see that video by clicking here. See you next episode!
